The U.S. will fund the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russians

The U.S. Department of State has announced the allocation of $25 million for programs aimed at identifying, repatriating, and rehabilitating children and young people forcibly displaced by Russia.

This is stated on the State Department’s website.

The funding will support two areas: direct tracking of deportees and projects to assist the Ukrainian government and local partners in the rehabilitation of returnees. An official statement on the State Department’s website notes that the Trump administration remains committed to ending the bloodshed and establishing a lasting peace.

The allocated funds will supplement existing programs to assist civilians affected by Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. The State Department emphasized that the U.S. continues to fund dozens of projects to support victims of violence. This decision is part of Washington’s overall strategy to address the consequences of the war and protect the rights of the most vulnerable groups. Coordination efforts with trusted Ukrainian partners are currently underway to ensure the effective use of these resources.

As a reminder, Ukraine has already repatriated 1,744 children abducted by Russia from Russia and the temporarily occupied territories. The war that Russia is waging against Ukraine is a war against children, a deliberate and ruthless attack on the most vulnerable.

Melania Trump receiveda letter from Putin regarding Ukrainian children.
