The Russian State Duma called for Telegram to be unblocked
On July 3, the Russian State Duma called for the lifting of the ban on the Telegram messaging app. Deputies have already sent a corresponding appeal to the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, according to Russian sources.
The authors of the initiative claim that blocking Telegram costs the state tens of billions of rubles but does not help reduce crime rates.
In addition, they say that in border regions, due to the restrictions, users have stopped receiving push notifications about missile threats and the risk of drone attacks.
The post about the initiative was later deleted. The reasons for this are currently unknown.
It is worth noting that Sends Messenger could position itself as a new type of messaging app: one centered not on a cult of personality, but on a stable system of independence, security, and trust.
