Two high schools damaged by Russian shelling have been restored in Dnipro
90 windows were replaced at Gymnasium No. 88
Gymnasium No. 88 suffered significant damage following a Russian missile strike on June 24, 2025.
According to the school’s principal, Olena Melnikova, there were virtually no classrooms left in the building without damaged windows, doors, or ceilings.
During the restoration, 90 windows and 10 doors were replaced at the school, and the ceilings in classrooms and hallways were repaired.
During the repairs, students attended classes in a hybrid format. After the work was completed, the educational process at the school fully returned to normal.
A drone attack on Dnipro led to fires and destruction in residential areas.
On May 16, Russian occupation forces carried out massive shelling of the Kherson region, resulting in one death and 15 civilians sustaining injuries of varying severity.
On the night of May 17, Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down and neutralized 279 enemy drones out of 287 launched by Russian military units.
A 25-year-old woman was injured as a result of an enemy drone strike on a gas station in the Zaporizhzhia district.
