In Kyiv, a moose wandered into the entrance of a high-rise building; it was led back to the forest
An unusual incident occurred in Kyiv’s Svyatoshynsky District—a moose wandered into a high-rise building and hid right in the building’s entrance hall. Local residents began calling the 112 emergency line en masse to report the wild animal’s appearance in the city.
At first, rescue workers set out to search for the animal, but it later turned out that the moose had found an unexpected hiding spot in the entrance hall of a residential building.
“We arrived, searched for it, and there it was… in the entrance hall of a high-rise building. Just standing there, hiding. It didn’t explain why it did that,” the rescue workers joked.
Specialists and concerned local residents joined the rescue operation. Thanks to their coordinated efforts, the animal was safely led out of the city and returned to its natural habitat.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident, and the moose itself was unharmed.
Similar incidents occur from time to time in the capital, especially in areas bordering forested areas. Experts remind the public that when encountering wild animals within the city limits, people should not approach them on their own and should notify the appropriate authorities.
This was reported by Oleksiy Biloshitsky, first deputy chief of the Patrol Police Department.
Earlier in Kyiv, an elk wandered into the Partisan Glory Park. The animal ran around the soccer field in a panic and then lay down to rest.
Previously, in the Holosiivskyi District, the protected area of the “Holosiivskyi” National Nature Park was expanded to 20.4%, or by 838.1 hectares.
The city authorities also plan to continue construction of parking lots in Kyiv in the near future. Most of them are to be underground and serve dual purposes.
Meanwhile, in Kharkiv, authorities have stepped up efforts to eliminate the “Russian world” in the city. Several streets named after Russian figures have been renamed.
