An investigation is underway in Mykolaiv into potential losses of ₴197 million at the municipal enterprise "Mykolaivelectrotrans" during the war

Police are investigating a criminal case regarding alleged losses of nearly 197 million hryvnias caused by officials of the municipal enterprise "Mykolaivelektrotrans" during the full-scale war.

This is stated in the investigation materials.

The case concerns the mechanism for financing urban passenger transportation by electric transit.

According to investigators, the city government was supposed to compensate the company only for the difference between actual transportation costs and revenue from tickets and other sources.

At the same time, law enforcement officials believe that budget funds could have been paid out “at the full rate”—without taking into account the company’s own revenue or the actual decrease in transportation volumes.

As a result of these overpayments, the company, according to the investigation, received 196.8 million hryvnias from the budget without justification.

If found guilty, the municipal enterprise officials face 2 to 5 years in prison.

In Dnipro, an indictment was filed against the former deputy director of one of the city council’s departments, who is suspected of official negligence that led to significant budget losses

A former official of the Road Service in the Kharkiv region has been notified of suspicion in a case involving millions in losses during highway repairs. According to the investigation, he signed a supplementary agreement with a contractor for over 204 million hryvnias for work not covered by the main contract. Law enforcement officials believe that such actions could have caused significant financial losses to the state.
