In Poland, Konrad Berkowicz, a member of the far-right Confederation party, was punished for an incident in the Sejm during which he displayed an Israeli flag with a swastika instead of the Star of David.
This was reported by RMF24.
Sejm Marshal Włodzimierz Czazasty stated that the MP will receive the maximum possible disciplinary punishment—for three months, he will be paid only half his salary.
According to Czazasty, the use of fascist symbols in parliament is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
In addition, the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating Berkowicz’s actions. Investigators are assessing whether his actions can be classified as public desecration of a foreign state’s flag and incitement of hostility on national or religious grounds.
Speaking in the Sejm, the deputy sharply criticized Israel’s actions in the Middle East and compared the country to the Third Reich, after which he unfurled the altered flag.
As a reminder, Poland will not participate in the mission in the Strait of Hormuz.
Poland has refused to transfer Patriot systems to the Middle East.
