At the Verkhovna Rada's Temporary Investigation Commission, a representative of the Kyiv Territorial Military Commissariat reported tragic incidents resulting from evasion of mobilization
On Thursday, May 15, in Kyiv, during a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission on Defense, Anti-Corruption Policy, and Human Rights During Martial Law, some high-profile statements were made regarding mobilization and public attitudes toward TCC employees.
This was reported by a UA.News journalist.
During the meeting, which took place at the Kyiv City State Administration building on Khreshchatyk Street with the participation of representatives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), the Ministry of Defense, and the civil society sector, Valerii Kravchenko, acting deputy head of the Kyiv City Military Registration and Enlistment Office and the Joint Staff, stated that in some cases, citizens’ unwillingness to fulfill their military duty takes on tragic forms.
“He has some problems, or is wanted by the police, and he begins to refuse to fulfill his duty,” said Kravchenko.
According to him, such situations sometimes end fatally: “For example, a person jumps out of a moving bus and is killed, or jumps off the roof of a building.”
At the same time, the official emphasized that all such cases must receive proper legal assessment, and it is important for society to prevent division amid discussions surrounding mobilization.
“Today, the only thing standing between us and our demise is the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” he stated.
Kravchenko also thanked the members of the parliamentary commission for addressing high-profile issues related to the activities of the TSK and the rights of citizens during mobilization measures.
A meeting of the TSC on defense and anti-corruption has begun in Kyiv.
The latest session of the Temporary Investigative Commission (TIC), dedicated to examining allegations of pressure and corruption within the Public Integrity Council (PIC), turned into an open scandal. Mykhailo Zhernakov, head of the DEJURE Foundation, who was invited to testify, pointedly refused to cooperate with the lawmakers.
The TSC meeting, to which Mykhailo Zhernakov was invited on Tuesday, December 9, had a specific goal: to investigate public allegations of corruption and abuse of influence leveled against him by his own colleagues in the civil society sector and former members of the Public Integrity Council (PIC).
The Verkhovna Rada’s Temporary Investigative Commission on Economic Security decided to invite Serhiy Deyneka, head of the State Border Guard Service, or a representative of the agency to the meeting. They want to obtain clarification from them regarding the departure from Ukraine of Timur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman.
