The UK has banned wet wipes, but not all of them

The United Kingdom has decided to ban plastic-containing wet wipes due to significant environmental pollution and clogging of sewer systems. The ban covers makeup removers, baby wipes, moist toilet paper, antibacterial hand wipes, personal hygiene products, and household cleaning wipes.

It is noted that this measure is intended to compel manufacturers to switch to eco-friendly alternatives.

However, this does not mean that these hygiene products will completely disappear from store shelves across the country. All products that do not contain plastic, as well as reusable alternatives, will remain freely available for sale. In addition, the government has made a special exception for medical products, so under certain conditions, hospitals and pharmacies will still be able to distribute them to ensure proper sanitary standards.

Mindmegette reports on this.

In the United Kingdom, lawyer and environmental activist Paul Powelsland faces the threat of an investigation after he and a group of volunteers cleaned up the Alders Brook in London on their own.

Earlier, a group of Greenpeace environmental activists staged a protest at the exclusive Trump Turnberry golf resort in Scotland. The activists spoke out in support of renewable energy sources, expressing their opposition to Donald Trump’s plans to increase fossil fuel production.
