Armenia has begun issuing draft notices to people arriving from Russia

In Armenia, citizens arriving from Russia to participate in parliamentary elections are receiving draft notices. These are being handed out at Yerevan Airport and at the border. This was stated by Taron Chakhoyan, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister.

“Armenian citizens arriving from Russia ‘for bribes’ will be called up for a 25-day training camp, and those who refuse will face criminal charges,” Chakhoyan said.

Military training in Armenia in 2026 runs from March 31 to June 19. Defense Minister Suren Papikyan noted that if a citizen who has arrived in Armenia is subject to military service, he has a duty to his homeland. According to him, this also applies to those arriving from France, the U.S., and other countries.

Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7. Participants include the ruling “Civic Contract” party led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the “Armenia” bloc led by Robert Kocharyan, “Strong Armenia” headed by Samvel Karapetyan, as well as “Prosperous Armenia” and “Wings of Unity.”

Earlier, Armenia appealed to the EU to send a rapid response team to counter Russian influence.
