Ukraine Will Receive the First Tranche of a Major EU Loan at the Recovery Conference in Gdańsk
Ukraine will receive the first tranche of macro-financial assistance as part of a large-scale EU loan package totaling 90 billion euros during the Recovery Conference, which will take place on June 25–26 in Gdańsk, Poland. This initial tranche of funding will amount to 3.2 billion euros.
According to a representative of the European Union institutions, the official decision to allocate the first tranche to Kyiv was finalized last week, and it was decided to symbolically time the actual disbursement of the funds to coincide with the start of the international event in Poland.
It is expected that financial support will not end there this month. By the end of June, the European side forecasts the allocation of the next tranche in the amount of 5.9 billion euros, which will be earmarked for the direct provision of supplies and support to the Ukrainian army.
This was reported by European Truth.
The €5.9 billion tranche of the EU loan for Ukraine will be allocated for drones.
The EU is preparing a new tranche for Ukraine of up to €2.7 billion as part of the Ukraine Facility program.
