Ukraine has been invited to a meeting on reopening the Strait of Hormuz
Ukrainian military officials have arrived in London to participate in international consultations on maritime security and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a conversation with journalists, according to Glavkom. According to the head of state, Ukraine joined the talks involving 30 countries at the invitation of the United Kingdom and France to share its unique expertise in conducting naval operations in the Black Sea.
Kyiv has already sent teams of specialists to the Middle East, where international partners have expressed satisfaction with their work. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine has signed documents with several countries under the Drone Deal and is continuing negotiations on the development of military technologies. The main focus of Ukraine’s participation is on countering modern challenges that Ukrainian forces previously faced during the unblocking of maritime routes.
It is expected that the meeting in London will result in concrete agreements on protecting trade routes from threats related to the war in the Middle East. Ukraine offers its partners practical solutions in the field of drone use and the defense-industrial complex. The President emphasized that the experience of overcoming crisis situations at sea is the minimum the country is prepared to provide to stabilize global security.
The next steps by Ukrainian representatives will depend on the results of the current stage of consultations. Thus, Ukraine is gradually becoming a key exporter of security solutions not only in Europe but also in strategically important regions of the world.
