Video: In Odesa, Russia struck a high-rise building with a drone; there are casualties
On the afternoon of August 1, Russian forces launched a drone strike on Odesa. One of the enemy drones struck a high-rise residential building in the city center, injuring two people.
According to preliminary reports, one of the Russian attack drones struck a high-rise building in central Odesa.
“The enemy attacked Odesa with attack drones. According to preliminary information, one of the enemy drones struck a high-rise residential building in central Odesa,” Oleg Kipper reported.
Rescue workers, medical personnel, law enforcement officers, and other emergency services immediately began working at the site of the strike.
As of 12:34 p.m., two casualties had been reported.
According to the Odesa Regional State Administration, the injured are:
- a 28-year-old man;
- an 18-year-old boy.
Both victims were hospitalized with thermal burns. Medical personnel are providing them with the necessary care.

Currently, two people are known to have been injured as a result of the enemy attack on Odesa.
The victims are a 28-year-old man and an 18-year-old boy. They were hospitalized with thermal burns. Medical personnel are providing all necessary care.
Following the attack, an emergency response headquarters was set up in the area where the strike occurred. Relevant services are continuing to address the aftermath of the strike and assess the extent of the damage.

During a massive missile attack on Kyiv on the night of August 1, Russian forces struck the territory of the “Kyivmedspetstrans” enterprise twice. As a result of the shelling, five ambulances were completely destroyed by fire, and another 20 specialized vehicles sustained significant damage.
On the night of August 1, Russian forces carried out one of their largest airstrikes, firing 35 missiles at Ukraine—27 of which were ballistic—as well as 185 attack drones of various types. Kyiv was the enemy’s primary target, but strikes were also carried out in the Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions.
The number of casualties resulting from the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on the night of August 1 rose to 30. Among the wounded were four children, and nine people were killed in the strike.
Following yet another massive Russian attack on Kyiv, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that the country urgently needs additional air defense and missile defense systems, as well as interceptor missiles.

On the evening of July 31, a Russian attack drone struck a high-rise residential building in the Saltivsky district of Kharkiv. According to preliminary reports, the building’s roof was damaged, but there were no casualties.
As a reminder, Russian drones attacked the Chernihiv region, damaging a gas station and a resort.
Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv on the afternoon of July 24, although such attacks usually take place at night. An expert believes this may have been an attempt to wear down Ukraine’s air defense, a show of force, or the result of a technical delay in the missile launch.
