A traitor who voluntarily went to work in a Russian torture chamber has been convicted

The Khadzhibey District Court of Odessa found a resident of Kherson guilty of collaboration for voluntarily working for the Russian Federation at a seized penal colony. The court sentenced the man to 12 years in prison with the confiscation of all his property for voluntarily holding a position in an illegal law enforcement agency in the temporarily occupied territory

This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigations.

The investigation established that in May 2022, the defendant took the position of junior inspector in the security department of the illegally established Northern Penal Colony No. 90. The man agreed to cooperate with the occupying authorities after some of the facility’s staff refused to work for the enemy. For his service, he received a salary in cash in rubles.

The suspect was detained after the liberation of Kherson by Ukrainian defense forces. During the trial, his guilt in committing the crime specified in Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was fully proven. The court’s verdict entails a lengthy prison term and the forfeiture of personal property to the state.

It should be noted that the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent in Mykolaiv who was working for Russia. This individual is a repeat offender who passed information about the location of Ukrainian defense forces to the enemy.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine issued an in absentia notice of suspicion against Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, who is believed to be involved in supporting the war against Ukraine.

In Dnipro and Odesa, Russian agents who were setting fires in the cities were exposed.
