Zelenskyy announced new security agreements
Ukraine has launched an active phase of engagement aimed at strengthening security with a number of countries in the Middle East, the Caucasus, and Asia.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine’s combat experience, particularly in shooting down drones and protecting maritime routes, is becoming a sought-after tool for international partnership.
The basis for the new strategy was a report by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov on the results of the first phase of operations in the Gulf region.
Currently, the Ukrainian government is conducting negotiations with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, Syria, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain, and is also reviewing requests from Iraq.
“It is important that Ukrainian military expertise is recognized, and the combat experience of our soldiers becomes a strong component of our partners’ defense. Every nation deserves security, and we are ready to promptly and effectively support those who support our state and independence,” emphasized Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Within the framework of this cooperation, special attention is being paid to protecting the skies from attack drones and ensuring the safety of navigation.
The successful operations of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Black Sea have demonstrated the effectiveness of Ukrainian methods, which can now be applied to other strategic waterways around the world.
In addition to the Middle East, Ukraine is exploring the potential for cooperation with countries in the Caucasus, as well as in East and Southeast Asia.
Separately, the president noted the existence of substantive requests regarding security cooperation from a number of countries on the African continent.
In parallel with global initiatives, preparations are underway for the signing of new fundamental documents in Europe.
Concrete results regarding deeper security agreements with European allies are expected as early as this week, which are intended to legally enshrine the level of support for our state.
