Zelenskyy said Russia has changed its plans for the war
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia has updated its military plans and continues to adapt its war strategy. According to him, Ukraine is closely monitoring these changes and preparing appropriate countermeasures. The president also emphasized that a reduction in international pressure on Russia could fuel its aggression.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the Ukrainian military command is analyzing Russia’s updated war plans and closely monitoring changes in the enemy’s approach. According to him, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov briefed him on the situation at the front and on how exactly the Russian army is adjusting its priorities.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the Ukrainian side clearly understands the logic behind the enemy’s actions and is preparing appropriate measures to counter them. He noted that Russia continues to shift its military focus depending on the situation on the battlefield and the international context.
Separately, the president drew attention to the factor of international pressure, stating that a weakening of this pressure from partners—particularly in terms of sanctions and political measures—could fuel Russia’s growing military ambitions. At the same time, he said, Ukraine is strengthening its own deterrence capabilities, notably through long-range strikes, the use of drones, and active operations by units on the front lines. “We are thoroughly analyzing Russia’s updated war plans. The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine clearly understands what the enemy is planning and what priorities have been set for the Russian army by Russia’s political leadership. We will counter them,” Zelenskyy noted.
He also added that he had approved new planned operations by Ukrainian forces and received a briefing on the most effective units on the front lines. According to the president, the army’s immediate needs must be met promptly, as the situation on the front lines depends on this.
Concluding his statement, Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian military for their service and emphasized that their actions determine the state’s resilience in the war every day.
