BMW could make it harder for private mechanics to repair its cars
BMW is introducing patented screws featuring the brand’s logo shape on the heads, which will be exclusively accessible to official dealers, making it difficult for owners to repair their cars themselves.

These screws cannot be removed with standard tools, effectively blocking self-repair or maintenance in independent repair shops. The patent covers mounting elements in the interior, seats, and body joints.
