Jaguar Land Rover's profits plummeted by 99% — The Guardian

The annual profit of British automaker Jaguar Land Rover has fallen by more than 99%.

This was reported by The Guardian.

At the end of the fiscal year, the company posted a pre-tax profit of just £14 million, which is £2.5 billion less than the previous year.

Among the main reasons for the decline are U.S. tariffs on cars imposed by the Donald Trump administration, as well as a large-scale cyberattack that paralyzed the company’s factories for several weeks.

Competition in the Chinese market, where local automakers are actively releasing new models, has created additional pressure on the business.

Jaguar Land Rover is one of the UK’s largest automakers and employs approximately 33,000 people.

Mercedes-Benz is urgently recalling over 140,000 cars

As a reminder, the Chinese crossover Jaecoo 7 topped new car sales in the UK in March 2026.
