Nissan unveils Z Kaze concept with T-top roof — Motor1

Nissan unveiled the Z Kaze sports coupe concept in Phoenix, United States, featuring a T-top roof and removable glass panels. The car was created as a reference to open-roof Nissan Z models from previous generations and the tuning culture of the 1990s. As Motor1 reports, the car is being displayed at the ZCON exhibition in Phoenix and is later expected to be shown at the Japanese Classic Car Show.

Roof and body styling

The concept was painted in Pacific Teal. Its key feature is a specially made roof with removable glass sections. This solution references classic Z models with open roofs.

The hood, its vents, fender flares, and additional aerodynamic elements are made of carbon fiber. Nissan also used restored NISMO LMGT2 wheels — forged two-piece rims that RAYS produced in 1996.

The LMGT2 was created on the basis of the rare LMGT1 model. These are three-piece wheels intended for the Nissan R33 GT-R 400R.

NISMO and GReddy components

The Z Kaze received several NISMO suspension components. The coupe was also fitted with GReddy parts, a Supreme SP exhaust system, an upgraded intercooler, and an air filter system.

The concept is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. The combination of NISMO and GReddy components is intended to give the car a style characteristic of tuned vehicles from the 1990s.
