Honda's first electric motorcycle is already on sale in Europe

Honda has taken an important step in the development of electric transportation. The Japanese manufacturer has unveiled its first mass-produced electric motorcycle—the WN7—which is already on sale in the European market. The United Kingdom was the first country where customers could purchase the new model. There, the electric motorcycle is priced at 12,999 pounds sterling, which is approximately 17,400 U.S. dollars.

Previously, Honda had only produced electric scooters, and the WN7 is the brand’s first full-fledged electric motorcycle. The new model belongs to the popular naked class and features a modern design with sharp lines. The motorcycle does not have a traditional frame—this role is partially fulfilled by the battery, which is integrated into the power structure. The bike’s total weight is 217 kilograms.

The Honda WN7 is equipped with a 67-horsepower electric motor with a maximum torque of 100 N·m. The motorcycle’s top speed reaches 130 km/h. The manufacturer has included several riding modes so that the rider can choose between performance and energy efficiency depending on riding conditions. Honda also plans to release a more affordable version of the model. It will feature a 15-horsepower electric motor.

A 9.3 kWh battery provides the range. According to official data, a single charge is sufficient for approximately 140 kilometers of travel. The electric motorcycle supports fast charging via a CCS2 connector. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes. Using standard charging, it takes about three hours to fully charge the battery.

The Honda WN7 is equipped with a 5-inch digital instrument panel that displays key ride information, battery charge level, and range. The motorcycle also features a regenerative braking system. During deceleration, this system returns some of the energy to the battery, helping to extend the range. The launch of the WN7 marks an important milestone for Honda. The company is gradually expanding its lineup of electric vehicles and entering a market where competition among electric motorcycle manufacturers is growing fiercer every year.
