Five regions of Ukraine led the way in electric vehicle sales in May
In May of this year, 2,652 electric vehicles were added to Ukraine’s vehicle fleet.
The largest regional markets for this type of vehicle were the city of Kyiv, as well as the Kyiv, Lviv, Rivne, and Volyn regions.
The capital led in the number of registrations, with 324 eco-friendly vehicles purchased, 53% of which were used cars.
Lviv Oblast took second place with 271 vehicles, where the share of used cars reached a record 92%.
The remaining positions in the ranking were divided among Kyiv Oblast, where 213 vehicles were registered (73% used), Rivne Oblast—202 vehicles (95% used), and Volyn Oblast—195 vehicles (95% used).
Analysts identified clear preferences among Ukrainians when it comes to new cars. In Kyiv, the Toyota bZ4X crossover was in the highest demand; in Lviv Oblast, the BYD Leopard 3; in Kyiv Oblast, the BYD Sea Lion 06 EV; in Rivne Oblast, the German Volkswagen iD.4; and in Volyn Oblast, the ORA 03.
