Honda is discontinuing production of the Prologue electric crossover due to a sharp drop in sales
Japanese automaker Honda has decided to discontinue production of the Prologue electric crossover after the 2026 model year due to a significant decline in demand.
The Prologue was developed in collaboration with General Motors and was based on the Chevrolet Blazer EV platform. The Acura ZDX electric crossover was launched alongside it, but neither model met the manufacturer’s expectations. Production of the ZDX was discontinued last year.
In 2025, sales of the Honda Prologue in the U.S. rose by 19.1% to 39,194 vehicles. At the same time, after the federal tax credit for electric vehicles was eliminated, demand plummeted: in December alone, only 932 crossovers were sold, a drop of nearly 89%.

This negative trend has continued this year. In the first half of 2026, Honda sold 8,407 Prologue electric vehicles—48.5% fewer than during the same period last year.
The company confirmed that sales of the model will end at the close of the 2026 model year. At the same time, Prologue owners were promised continued service, spare parts supply, and warranty support through the dealer network.
