Over a 15-day period, the "Phantoms" issued 24,000 citations in Kyiv and the surrounding region

During the first 15 days of operation of the “Phantom” patrol cars in Kyiv and the surrounding region, officers issued 24,000 citations for speeding.

This was reported by Oleksiy Biloshitsky. According to him, police officers issued an additional 182 citations after directly stopping vehicles while they were committing violations.

The “Phantom” vehicles are manned by patrol police officers who can not only automatically record violations but also immediately respond to dangerous situations. Specifically, this includes running a red light or causing a traffic hazard.

In such cases, patrol officers can stop the vehicle, put a stop to the violation, and handle the case right on the spot.

Biloshitsky noted that 182 cases is a small number compared to the number of automatically recorded violations, since the main task of the “Phantoms” is precisely automatic speed control.

As a reminder, the police have warned Ukrainians about fake fines for traffic violations.

Fines for speeding will increase sharply in Ukraine.

Over the past year, the number of reserved workers in Ukraine has grown significantly—by approximately 300,000 people—and the number of enterprises recognized as critically important to the economy has also increased. The government attributes these changes to the expansion of the “reservation” mechanisms, particularly for frontline regions, and is preparing to update the regulations.
