Foreign diplomats were shown the site of the Russian missile strike near the Lukyanivska metro station

Nearly 60 heads of Ukrainian diplomatic missions and Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, visited the sites of Russian shelling near the “Lukyanivska” metro station in the capital. 

The visit was accompanied by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga, State Emergency Service Head Andriy Danik, and Acting Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Andriy Tkachov.

He spoke in detail about emergency response procedures, the key challenges faced daily by State Emergency Service units, as well as measures to protect the civilian population and restore damaged infrastructure.

On the night of July 19, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and eight others were injured as a result of the attack. Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital.

In Kyiv, near the “Lukyanivska” metro station, a new above-ground pedestrian crossing has been set up to serve as an alternative to the damaged underground passage following the Russian attack on the night of July 19.
