Yuriy Achilles Fedorenko was named an Honorary Citizen of Kyiv
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of the Capital to Yuriy Achilles Fedorenko, leader of the Servant of the People faction in the Kyiv City Council, Hero of Ukraine, and Hero of the War.
From the very first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, Fedorenko took up arms to defend Ukraine. Starting by forming a volunteer unit and clearing the Kyiv region of occupiers, he later enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade. It was there, under his command, that a company was formed, and later the large-scale “ACHILLES” battalion, which became one of the most effective strike drone units in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Today, December 4, the Kyiv City Council posthumously awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Kyiv” to Viktor Ognev’yuk, rector of the Boris Grinchenko University of Kyiv. He held this position from 2007 to 2022.
The Kyiv City Council stripped Soviet dictator Leonid Brezhnev of his title as an honorary citizen of the capital.
