Since the beginning of 2026, 6,793 residents of Kyiv have received financial assistance totaling 190 million hryvnias due to damage to or destruction of their homes as a result of Russian shelling.
Payments are made under the city’s targeted program “Care: Reaching Out to Kyiv Residents.”
Depending on the extent of damage to their homes, those affected receive a one-time payment of 10,000 UAH or 40,000 UAH.
In addition, residents whose homes have become uninhabitable are eligible for monthly rental compensation of 20,000 UAH. Currently, 111 people are receiving this support, and another 140 applications are under review.
“Since the beginning of the year, nearly 6,800 Kyiv residents have already benefited from various forms of financial assistance,” noted Marina Honda, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration.
She emphasized that prompt financial support is critically important for those affected in the first days following the shelling, which is why the city continues to expedite the processing of applications.
The largest number of applications was related to the aftermath of the massive attacks this spring and summer. Specifically:
- following the shelling on May 24, 1,294 out of 1,365 applicants received assistance;
- following the attack on June 2, payments were made to 1,032 out of 1,080 people;

The largest number of requests comes from residents of the Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, and Solomianskyi districts of the capital.
This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration.
