On May 18, an incident occurred in Kyiv at 1 Hradynska Street, where a soldier from the Special Forces barricaded himself inside an apartment. Eyewitnesses heard gunfire coming from the apartment, and police are preparing to storm the apartment.
According to UA.News sources, Mykola Karpenko, born in 1986, is inside the apartment. The man previously served in the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade named after Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Law enforcement officials are investigating all the circumstances of the event and the causes of the incident.
Earlier in Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a mobilized serviceman who had deserted his unit in the Kharkiv region and, according to the investigation, began collaborating with the Russian side by carrying out tasks related to the registration of Starlink terminals.
Law enforcement officers used their service firearms to repel an attack during a call in the village of Seredniy Bereziv, Kosiv District. The incident occurred after medical personnel complained about the aggressive behavior of an unknown individual who threatened them with violence.
