Following the Russian Federation's attack on Kyiv, Lake Kyrylivske suffered severe pollution
As a result of Russian shelling and a fire at one of the capital’s industrial facilities, fuel and lubricants entered Kyrylivskyi Lake in Kyiv via the storm sewer system.
Rescue workers and chemists from the State Emergency Service quickly deployed oil booms, containing the fuel spill. The agency assured that the contamination would not spread to other bodies of water in the cascade.
Currently, oil products are being collected from the water’s surface using specialized equipment and boats. Additionally, specialists from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center have taken water samples for laboratory analysis, and efforts to mitigate the consequences of the attack are ongoing.

The situation is gradually stabilizing, but drivers are advised to continue monitoring updates from the police and road services. If weather conditions worsen again, temporary restrictions or two-way traffic may be reintroduced on certain sections of the highway to ensure the safety of all road users. This was reported by the press service of the Rivne Region Patrol Police.
As a result of a massive Russian strike on the capital, a leased humanitarian warehouse belonging to the Ukrainian Red Cross was completely destroyed; it had stored over 320,000 items of cargo and equipment with a total value of more than 79 million hryvnias.
