Traffic will be blocked in Kyiv for two days; here are the restrictions

Temporary traffic and pedestrian restrictions will be in effect in Kyiv on August 6 and 7. The changes will affect several areas in the Desnianskyi District, as well as the central part of the capital.

Drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and, if possible, avoid areas where work will be taking place. Pedestrians should also be aware of the temporary changes to traffic patterns.

City officials have announced that the restrictions will be in place for two days, after which traffic in the affected areas is expected to return to normal.

Traffic Restrictions

From 7:00 p.m. on August 6 to 9:00 a.m. on August 7, traffic on Heroiv Energetykiv Street in the Desnianskyi district will be partially restricted.

Road crews will be repairing the asphalt pavement on the section from 6 Heroiv Energetykiv Street to Ronald Reagan Street in both directions.

The work will be carried out in stages without completely blocking traffic.

Changes for Pedestrians on Independence Square

Also, on August 6 and 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., pedestrian traffic will be partially restricted in the underground passage on Independence Square in the Shevchenkivskyi District.

Repairs to the underpass will be carried out sequentially and in phases, so there are no plans to completely close the passage to the public.

The Municipal Corporation apologizes for the temporary inconvenience and urges residents to take these restrictions into account when planning their routes.

This was reported with reference to the Kyiv City State Administration.

Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv on the afternoon of July 24, although such attacks usually occur at night. An expert believes this may have been an attempt to wear down Ukraine’s air defense, a show of force, or the result of a technical delay in the missile launch.
