The Prosecutor's Office has returned real estate in the Podil district of Kyiv, valued at nearly 4.8 million hryvnias, to the city
A court in Kyiv has returned a non-residential property in the Podil district to municipal ownership after it had previously been unlawfully removed from the community’s property.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
The property in question is an 83.7-square-meter building on Nyzhniy Val Street, valued at nearly 4.8 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, the property was removed from municipal ownership based on a court decision back in 2010. Subsequently, this decision was overturned after it was established that false information had been provided and forged documents had been used.
Despite this, ownership of the premises remained registered to a private company.
The Kyiv Commercial Court agreed with the prosecutor’s office’s arguments and ruled to return the property to the local community.
The prosecutor’s office emphasized that the transfer of municipal property to private ownership without the owner’s consent is illegal.
The Shevchenkivskyi District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv is seeking a court order to invalidate the illegal registration of ownership rights to non-existent real estate located on state-owned land.
The prosecutor’s office is seeking to recover 14 million hryvnias from the developer of the “Nordica Residence” residential complex.
