Forecasters have warned of a prolonged thunderstorm in Kyiv

A thunderstorm is expected in Kyiv within the next hour and through the rest of the day on August 4, prompting the capital to issue a Level 1 (yellow) hazard alert.

Residents are advised to follow safety guidelines: avoid standing near billboards, power lines, and tall trees, and do not park cars near them.

In case of flooding, contact Kyivavtodor at 0442847419; for fallen trees—contact Kyivzelenbud (0442724018), and in life-threatening situations, call emergency responders at 101 or KARS (0444303713). In case of injury, call 103, and to report malfunctioning traffic lights, contact the Traffic Control Center at 050-387-3542.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warned that a thunderstorm was forecast for the Kyiv region within the next hour and through the end of the day on August 3, which could cause power outages. However, the storm never materialized.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has warned of temperatures reaching 38° and a fire hazard.
