Media identified the man who led the dispersal of protesters in Teremki

On August 7, journalists from “Slidstvo.Info” identified a man who, according to their information, may have been involved in dispersing protesters in Kyiv’s Teremky Park, where activists were demonstrating against the cutting down of trees.

According to Kateryna Chepura, one of the men who escorted her off the premises was Ruslan Pylypenko. According to YouControl, as of 2024, he was the deputy commander of Air Defense Platoon No. 1.

Currently, there are no asset declarations for him in the registry.

Vyacheslav Sinitsa, the company commander of PPOP No. 1, was also present at the protest. A journalist from “Slidstvo.Info” identified him based on photos from social media. Kateryna Chepura confirmed that she saw him during the protest.

The Kyiv City State Administration stated that the trees are being cut down to build a backup heating network, which, in the event of damage to Thermal Power Plant No. 5, is intended to ensure heat supply to residents of the Teremky-1 and Teremky-2 neighborhoods.

City officials assure that the project has all the necessary permits, that the area will be restored after the work is completed, and that new trees will be planted to replace those that were cut down.
