Heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected in Kyiv on July 3

On Friday, July 3, a significant deterioration in weather conditions is expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Meteorologists are warning of heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and strong gusts of wind, prompting the declaration of a Level I hazard alert (yellow) in the region.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail in some areas, and wind squalls with speeds of 15–20 m/s are forecast for the capital during the day.

“On July 3, during the day, expect heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail in some areas, and wind squalls of 15–20 m/s,” forecasters warn.

Experts note that adverse weather conditions may complicate operations at energy, utility, and construction companies, as well as affect traffic.

According to the forecast, July 3 in the Kyiv region will be cloudy with some sunny intervals. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected during the day, with hail and gusts of up to 20 m/s possible in some areas. The wind will be from the northwest at 5–10 m/s.

Air temperatures will range from +25 to +30°C in the Kyiv region and from +26 to +28°C in Kyiv.

According to meteorologist Natalka Didenko, on July 3, the weather in Ukraine will begin to change under the influence of a cold front. Short-lived rain and thunderstorms are forecast for most regions, while the eastern regions will remain mostly dry.

In western Ukraine, as well as in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, and Vinnytsia regions, the heat will subside—daytime temperatures will range from +24 to +29°C. At the same time, most other regions will continue to experience hot weather with temperatures ranging from +30 to +34°C.
