A major restoration of the Metro Bridge is underway in Kyiv: Will train service be affected?
The Kyiv Metro Municipal Enterprise has announced a tender for the development of project documentation for the restoration of the Metro Bridge across the Dnipro River. Nearly 59.3 million hryvnias are planned to be allocated for the project’s preparation.
According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the restoration will cover the bridge’s main span, as well as the right-bank and left-bank approach ramps. The project involves restoring the waterproofing of the structures, repairing corrosion damage, modernizing the engineering systems, and installing a state-of-the-art system to monitor the structure’s technical condition.
In addition, plans include renovating service areas and upgrading the fire and security alarm systems, as well as the video surveillance system.
The Kyiv City State Administration emphasized that the final deadlines, cost, and sequence of work will be determined after the design phase is completed and the project passes state review.
Meanwhile, the Kyiv Metro municipal enterprise assured that train traffic across the Metro Bridge is currently operating as usual, and passenger safety is fully ensured.

The suspension bridge in the village of Vyzhenka in Bukovina, which collapsed under a group of children in early June, has been fully restored. It was on this very bridge that about 30 children fell into the water while taking a group photo; six of them were injured at the time.
