Authorities in Kyiv want to confiscate 7 hectares of land from Russians

The Obolon District Prosecutor’s Office in Kyiv has filed lawsuits seeking the confiscation of six agricultural land plots owned by Russian citizens. Their total area is 7 hectares.

Prosecutors determined that six Russian citizens inherited these plots of land. Under Ukrainian law, foreigners may inherit agricultural land but are required to dispose of it within one year.

Since the owners, who hold Russian passports, failed to do so, the prosecutor’s office is seeking a court order to terminate their ownership rights and confiscate the land for the benefit of Ukraine. Proceedings in these cases have already been initiated.

In Kyiv, a scheme to evade mobilization involving a former official was uncovered.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the National Police uncovered 12 schemes to evade mobilization in eight regions.
