Water misting systems will be installed in Kyiv to provide relief from the heat – locations

The capital has begun the phased installation of special cooling areas to reduce the heat stress on city residents during the summer. 

In total, 33 special structures are planned to be installed in city parks and squares, evenly distributed across all ten administrative districts of the capital. The city’s public utilities plan to fully complete the installation and connect all facilities to the water supply by the end of next week. 

The timely decision to launch the fine-mist water spray stations was prompted by the forecasted seasonal rise in air temperature, which traditionally occurs in July. The misting frames are an effective and environmentally friendly solution for quickly and safely cooling pedestrians while they are out in the open sun during the hottest hours of the day.

Desnianskyi District:

An abnormal heat wave in Europe has led to at least 18 deaths.

France has faced power outages amid a record-breaking heat wave that has swept across much of Western Europe. Several regions have reported power outages, as well as the imposition of emergency restrictions and the temporary closure of educational institutions.
