Ukrainian diplomats from around the world will gather in Kyiv
Heads of Ukrainian diplomatic missions will gather in Kyiv on August 3–7 for their annual meeting. This year’s meeting will be held under the theme “Restoring Peace and Ukraine’s Leadership.” The agenda includes meetings with state leaders and discussions on Ukraine’s key foreign policy priorities.
Heads of Ukraine’s diplomatic missions abroad will travel to Kyiv. During the meeting, they are expected to coordinate the joint efforts of Ukrainian diplomats and define the main directions of the country’s foreign policy. A separate high-level segment is planned. It will be attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk, and Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi.
Also joining the event will be First Lady Olena Zelenska, Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov, First Deputy Head of the Office of the President Serhiy Kyslytsia, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal, and Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Vsevolod Chentsov.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the annual meeting is necessary to ensure that Ukrainian diplomats act in a coordinated manner and share a common vision of key foreign policy objectives. “The annual meeting is intended to ensure coordination among the Ukrainian diplomatic corps and to define common approaches to implementing Ukraine’s foreign policy priorities,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
The meeting will take place in Kyiv from August 3 to 7. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced the meeting on August 2.
For the first time in history, Ukraine has joined the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism as an assisting country. As part of this mission, 70 Ukrainian rescue workers traveled to France to help combat large-scale wildfires.
