A video showing the moment debris fell onto the South Bridge in Kyiv has surfaced online

A video has been posted online showing the moment debris fell near the South Bridge in Kyiv during a Russian attack. The footage shows a flash and debris falling near the bridge structure. Information about possible damage to the bridge itself is currently being verified.

The first footage of debris falling near the South Bridge in Kyiv has appeared online. The video shows a bright flash occurring near the bridge during the attack, followed by debris falling to the ground. This is likely debris from a downed air-attack vehicle. However, it is impossible to definitively determine exactly what was captured on video based on a single clip.

The South Bridge is one of Kyiv’s key transportation crossings over the Dnipro River. Traffic is permitted on the bridge during air raid alerts in the capital, though certain restrictions on entering the bridge and scheduled closures are in effect in the city.

Russian attacks on Kyiv in recent days have been accompanied by debris falling in various parts of the capital. In particular, during the nighttime attack on September 29, debris from UAVs and missiles was found in several areas of the city. According to the Kyiv City State Administration, residential and non-residential buildings and vehicles were damaged, and fires broke out.

In the available official reports on this attack, there is currently no specific information regarding damage to the Southern Bridge’s structure. Therefore, it is too early to conclude that the bridge was damaged based on the published footage. It is also unknown whether the incident affected traffic across the South Bridge. If there are changes to the traffic schedule, city authorities will provide an update.
