A warehouse belonging to the pharmaceutical distributor Venta, containing medicines, was attacked near Kyiv

Near Kyiv, warehouses belonging to the pharmaceutical distributor “Venta” caught fire as a result of a Russian attack. The warehouses stored medications from international and Ukrainian manufacturers, including Bayer, Pfizer, Sanofi, Teva, “Darnitsa,” and “Farmak.” Information regarding the extent of the damage and the potential impact on the supply of medicines is currently being verified.

A fire broke out at the warehouses of the company “Venta” during a Russian attack near Kyiv. Venta is one of the major pharmaceutical distributors that supplies medicines to pharmacies and other medical facilities. The warehouses stored products from various manufacturers. Among them were the international pharmaceutical companies Bayer, Sanofi, Pfizer, and Teva, as well as the Ukrainian companies Darnitsa and Farmak.

A fire broke out on the premises of the warehouse complex following the attack. At this time, there is no definitive information on exactly how much inventory was destroyed or damaged. It is also unclear whether this situation will affect the supply of medicines to pharmacies. The extent of the damage and the impact on the company’s operations are still being assessed. “Venta” operates in the Ukrainian pharmaceutical market and collaborates with a large number of manufacturers. Its partners include both international companies and Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturers.

For the pharmaceutical market, attacks on large warehouses pose a particular problem, as such facilities store significant stockpiles of medications at any given time. In 2026, Venta’s warehouse facilities had already suffered serious losses: in early August, the company’s warehouse complex in the Dnipropetrovsk region was completely destroyed. Initial estimates put the loss of inventory at more than 600 million hryvnias. Now, the company’s facility near Kyiv has come under attack. Whether this new attack will lead to disruptions in the supply of certain medications will become clear once the damage assessment is complete and inventory checks are conducted, according to local sources.
