Zelenskyy stated that investigators are examining several possible motives
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that law enforcement officials are considering several possible motives for the attacker who carried out the shooting in the capital.
He mentioned this in an address.
According to Zelenskyy, the perpetrator set his apartment on fire before the attack and had previously been charged with a crime. He also lived in the Donetsk region for a long time and was born in Russia.
“We are currently investigating everything that can be known about him and why he did this. Every detail must be checked. Investigators are working on several theories,” the president noted.
He added that all of the attacker’s electronic devices and contacts will be examined, and the public will be kept informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Prosecutor General.
According to the latest data, six people were killed and 14 others were injured in the attack. Among the victims is a 12-year-old boy.
“Unfortunately, the number may rise: people are still seeking help,” Zelenskyy added.
