Adaptations and a legal drama
Netflix plans to present “East of Eden,” based on Steinbeck’s novel, on October 1. The story focuses on Adam and Cathy, who move to California at the beginning of the 20th century. There, Cathy gives birth to two sons but later leaves the family. Florence Pugh plays Cathy.
On the same day, HBO Max has scheduled the premiere of WAR, a series about the rivalry between two major London law firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne. In the first season, the companies represent opposing sides in divorce proceedings between a technology magnate, played by Dominic West, and his actress wife, played by Sienna Miller. According to the publication, the series has already been renewed for a second season.

On October 7, Prime Video is expected to release a series adaptation of Stephen King’s “Carrie,” directed by Mike Flanagan. The main character is a schoolgirl who suffers from bullying and pressure from her religiously fanatical mother. After an incident at school, she uses telekinetic abilities against her peers.
