Eminem celebrated 18 years of sobriety and showed off a commemorative chip

53-year-old American rapper Eminem announced that he has been sober for 18 years. He shared a photo of his sobriety chip.

The rapper shared this on Instagram.

The photo shows that the phrase “Be true to yourself” is engraved on the chip, and the words “unity, service, recovery” are placed around the Roman numeral XVIII.

"XVIII," the artist captioned the post briefly, adding a medal emoji.

Eminem has repeatedly spoken openly about his struggles with alcohol and prescription drugs. In 2007, he survived a near-fatal overdose, after which he decided to seek help and began his journey to recovery.

In 2009, the rapper returned to music with the album “Relapse,” which became one of his first works after beginning his sober life.

In 2022, on the Paul Pod podcast, Eminem recalled that after overcoming his addictions, he felt a renewed sense of creativity.

“I remember when I first stopped drinking… I was so happy, and everything felt brand-new to me again, damn it. It was my first album, and for the first time in a long while, I had fun recording it,” the artist noted.

Earlier, American rapper and producer Marshall Mathers, known as Eminem, released a touching video for the track “Temporary,” dedicated to his eldest daughter, Hailie Jade.

As a reminder, this summer, Eminem released the track “Houdini,” which became the first song from the album *The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)*, announced for summer 2024.

Rapper Eminem is demanding that controversial potential U.S. presidential candidate and multimillionaire Vivek Ramaswamy stop using his music during his campaign.
