A number of online stores have been blocked in Ukraine for selling Russian books
The State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine, has shut down a number of online stores that were selling Russian publications.
This was reported on the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting’s website.
During monitoring, the online resources Storinkabook, IQbook, Po4itayka, Po4itaemka, Knigomania, and Knygomania were identified. According to the investigation, they were selling books from the aggressor state, specifically publications from the sanctioned Russian publishing houses “Eksmo,” “AST,” “Tsentrpoligraf,” and “Piter.”
It was also established that these stores’ inventory included books published after the start of the full-scale invasion, which likely entered Ukraine illegally.
Furthermore, the inspection revealed violations of the Law of Ukraine “On Electronic Commerce”—the website owners failed to disclose information about their legal status and location.
As a result of joint efforts by the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting and the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Electronic Communications Networks decided to restrict access to these resources.
Access to these websites may be restored only after the end of martial law, provided their owners legalize their operations and bring their activities into compliance with Ukrainian law.
The agency also reported that, since July 2025, in cooperation with the SBU, 31 online bookstores distributing products from the aggressor country have already been blocked. Five more resources were blocked again after attempts to resume operations via new domains.
