The 2026 Deruny Festival will take place in Korosten
On the second Saturday of September 2026, Korosten in the Zhytomyr region will host the 17th Deruny Festival—one of Ukraine’s most famous culinary events. This year, the event will once again be held under the charitable slogan “Deruny—Donats—Drones,” and the funds raised will go toward supporting the Ukrainian military.
Visitors can look forward to dozens of varieties of deruny with different fillings, as well as other traditional dishes—sausages, lard, shashlik, and much more.
The event will take place in Drevlyansky Park. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., along the path from the deruny monument to the central gazebo, local women will treat guests to their signature deruny in exchange for charitable donations.
All proceeds will be donated to support the 143rd Korosten Separate Territorial Defense Battalion.
In addition to the culinary program, the organizers have prepared activities for children and adults. The festival will feature charity booths, an educational entertainment area, zones dedicated to mine safety and first aid, creative workshops, and the “Donation for Talent” campaign. For the youngest visitors, there will be areas with cotton candy and popcorn.
A trip to the festival can be combined with a tour of the city’s tourist attractions. Guests will be able to stroll through Drevlyansky Park, see the Uzh River, and visit Olha’s Baths.
Korosten is located about 150 kilometers from Kyiv, so you can get there by car or train in 2–3 hours.
