Pavlo Ostrikov's film *You Are the Cosmos* was named the best film of the year by the Golden Dzyga Awards
On July 25, the “Golden Dzyga” National Film Awards announced the winner in the top category. The film “You Are the Cosmos,” directed by Pavlo Ostrikov, was named Best Film of the Year; the winner was announced during the 10th anniversary awards ceremony in Kyiv.
In addition to “You Are the Cosmos,” the following films competed in this category: “2,000 Meters to Andriivka,” “War Through the Eyes of Animals,” “Honeymoon,” “Songs of the Slowly Burning Earth,” and “Gray Bees.”
In the “Best Director” category (Y. G. Illienko Award), Pavlo Ostrikov won for “You Are the Cosmos.” Also in the running were: Dmytro Moiseev for “Gray Bees”; Mstislav Chernov for “2,000 Meters to Andriivka.”
In the “Best Screenplay” category, the winner was Pavlo Ostrikov for “You Are the Cosmos.” Also in the running were: Dmytro Moiseev for “Gray Bees”; Zhanna Ozirna for “Honeymoon.”
The winner in the “Best Documentary Film” category was “2,000 Meters to Andriivka” (prod. Mstislav Chernov, Alex Babenko; dir. Mstislav Chernov). Also in the running were: “Cuba and Alaska” (prod. Olga Bregman, dir. Yegor Troyanovsky); “Songs of the Slowly Burning Land” (prod. Daria Bassel, dir. Olga Zhurba).
In the “Best Drama Series” category, the winner was the series “Limitedly Suitable” (prod. Serhiy Lavrenyuk, Olena Lavrenyuk, dir. Arkadiy Nepitalyuk). Also in the running were: “Quiet Nava” (produced by Pavlo Rybak, Maryna Kaplun, Nataliia Panchenko, Anna Honchar, and Dmytro Safanovskyi; directed by Dmytro Andriyanov); “Hiding the Ex” (prod. Yuriy Povooznik, dir. Serhiy Kulibyshev).
In the “Best Actress” category, the winner was Marina Koshkina for “War Through the Eyes of Animals.” Also nominated were: Ira Nirsha, “Honeymoon”; and Ada Rogovtseva, “Well, Mom.”
In the “Best Supporting Actress” category, the winner was Irma Vitovska for *Malevich*. Also nominated were: Marina Koshkina for *Malevich*; Olga Martynishyn for *War Through the Eyes of Animals*.
In the “Best Actor” category, the winner was Volodymyr Kravchuk for *You Are the Cosmos*. Also nominated were: Viktor Zhdanov for *Gray Bees*; Roman Lutsky for *Honeymoon*.
In the “Best Supporting Actor” category, Vasyl Kukharsky (posthumously) won for *Oxygen Station*. Also nominated were: Oleksiy Gorbunov for *Malevich*; and Volodymyr Yamnenko for *Gray Bees*.
In the “Best Short Feature Film” category (Y. A. Minzyanov Award), the winner was the film “Easter Day” (dir. Mykola Zaseyev, prod. Natalia Libet, Oleksandra Bratyshchenko, Viktor Shevchenko, and Olga Bregman).
In the “Best Short Documentary Film” category, the winner was “769 km to New York” (dir. Sofia Bugriy, prod. Sabina Asadova).
The winner in the “Best Animated Film” category was “My Grandmother Is a Parachutist” (prod. and dir. Polina Piddubna).

The film “You Are the Cosmos” also won the special MEGOGO AUDIENCE AWARD!
Serhiy Bukovsky was named the winner of the Award for Contribution to the Development of Ukrainian Cinema.
Among other awards, Artem Ryzhikov received the “Discovery of the Year” award. This award is presented to filmmakers whose work opens up new creative horizons for Ukrainian cinema and establishes them as prominent voices in the contemporary film industry.
Ryzhikov is a Ukrainian director and cinematographer. In 2025, he presented the documentary “A Simple Soldier” about his service in the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which was named the best Ukrainian documentary at the 16th Odessa International Film Festival, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
