Former U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle unveiled a new joint portrait created by artist Nijedeka Akunili Crosby, who was born in Nigeria and currently works in Los Angeles.
The painting has been added to the collection of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago and is now part of an exhibition dedicated to the Obamas’ legacy.
The artist’s work has received positive reviews for its complex technique and symbolism. Nijedeka Akunili Crosby is known for combining painting, photography, and elements of Nigerian cultural heritage in her works.
