Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine performed on The Voice — Rolling Stone

Queen Latifah, Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Levine performed The Band’s song The Weight in a pre-premiere performance for the 30th season of the music show The Voice. Clarkson sang barefoot and traded lines from the song with Latifah, while Levine played drums and Green played guitar, Rolling Stone reports.

New season coaches

For Queen Latifah and country performer Riley Green, the 30th season will be their debut in The Voice coaching chairs. Adam Levine is returning to the project for his 19th season, while Kelly Clarkson is returning for her 11th.

Levine previously told NBC that after returning to the show, it became “different in a good way, efficient and somewhat calm.” According to him, this format seems “really wonderful” to him.

Six weeks of live broadcasts

The Voice executive producer Audrey Morrissey told TV Insider that live broadcasts will return in the new season. They will last six weeks. There were no live broadcasts in the 29th season, while in some previous seasons this stage was limited to several days.

Viewers will vote in real time: after the performances, it will be announced that same evening who will continue participating. The premiere of the 30th season is scheduled for Monday, September 21, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The first week will consist of a two-hour premiere and two one-hour episodes, after which the show will air once a week in a two-hour format.
