Molly Tuttle named Artist of the Year at Americana Honors & Awards — Rolling Stone
The Americana Honors & Awards 2026 ceremony took place in Nashville on September 16, where Molly Tuttle was named Artist of the Year. Brandi Carlile received the Song of the Year award for “Returning to Myself,” while Tyler Childers’ Snipe Hunter was named Album of the Year.
As Rolling Stone reports, Childers was not present at the ceremony. The album Snipe Hunter was produced by Rick Rubin and Nick Sanborn.
Other winners
Gillian Welch and David Rawlings were named Duo or Group of the Year. During her speech, Welch noted that they had not released new music this year but had toured continuously, including with their Grateful Dead “Acoustic Reckoning” concert series.

Ken Pomeroy was named Emerging Act of the Year. The publication called her album Cruel Joke one of the most notable musical breakthroughs of 2025. Mandy Fer was named Instrumentalist of the Year; she performs with Amos Lee and Allison Russell. In her speech, she said that in her youth she had rarely seen women solo guitarists on stage and expressed a desire to inspire people of all gender identities to pursue music.
Lifetime achievement honors
Lifetime achievement awards were presented to Dolly Parton, Robert Plant, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Parton accepted the honor in a video message recorded before her death. In it, she said that she had played the roots music now called Americana back in the Smoky Mountains, and that work on her 1997 album Hungry Again paved the way for a series of her bluegrass and acoustic recordings.
Chris Stapleton performed with the Heartbreakers and Robert Plant also performed during the ceremony, while Brandi Carlile and I’m With Her performed a tribute to Dolly Parton.
