Lego is set to release Michael Keaton's iconic Batmobile
Lego has unveiled a new collectible Batmobile from Tim Burton’s film *Batman Returns*. The model recreates Michael Keaton’s Batmobile, consists of 2,269 pieces, and can transform into the Batmissile.
Lego has announced a new set for Batman fans. This time, the designers have recreated the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1992 film *Batman Returns*. This is the first LEGO model to recreate this specific version of the iconic car from the movie. In the movie, Bruce Wayne, played by Michael Keaton, was behind the wheel of the Batmobile. The set consists of 2,269 pieces. It will cost $229.99.
Lego designers strove to capture the car’s appearance from the movie as faithfully as possible. The model features the characteristic long body, low profile, and other recognizable details of the original Batmobile. But the set’s main feature is its transformation. Just like the car in the movie, the LEGO Batmobile can transform into a narrower version of the Batmissile. To do this, you need to press a special button. After that, the car’s side panels slide back, and the model changes shape.
This very scene was one of the most memorable in *Batman Returns*. The set will also include an exclusive Batman minifigure. For this figure, LEGO has created a new cowl that differs from previous versions. In total, the design team has created three new elements for the set.
Another treat for fans: six hidden Easter eggs related to the movie. LEGO hasn’t revealed yet what exactly is hidden in the model, so buyers will have to find them on their own. The finished Batmobile will be approximately 10 centimeters tall, 43 centimeters long, and 16.5 centimeters wide. The new set will be part of the Lego Batman collectible series. The company has previously released other versions of the Batmobile, including models based on Christopher Nolan’s films.
For members of the Lego Insiders program, the new set will be available for purchase on September 1, 2026. The Batmobile will go on general sale on September 4, 2026.
