Doctors warned Panettière about the risk of death from alcohol

A few years ago, a doctor warned actress Hayden Panettiere that if she didn’t stop drinking, she might only have about five more years to live.

The actress wrote about this in her memoir, *This Is Me: A Reckoning*, which was published in May 2026. According to her, alcohol became a way to cope with emotional pain, but over time, her addiction grew so severe that it was extremely difficult to quit on her own.

In 2020, Panettiere began professional treatment and spent eight months in a rehabilitation center. She said that after giving up alcohol, she experienced tremors, nausea, severe anxiety, and other symptoms of withdrawal.

The actress attributed her addiction issues, in particular, to postpartum depression, emotional stress due to her early fame, and difficult changes in her personal life.

Hayden Panettiere died on August 16, 2026, at the age of 36. However, the official cause of death has not yet been announced. At this time, there is no confirmation that her death was directly related to alcohol addiction or medical warnings.
