Matt Groening hinted at a return of *The Simpsons: Hit & Run*
Matt Groening, the creator of *The Simpsons*, hinted during the D23 event that *The Simpsons: Hit & Run* might make a comeback. When asked about a possible sequel to the game, he said, “I think the original game is coming back in some form.”
The show’s current showrunner, Matt Selman, then added, “or not.” According to The Verge, Grening and Selman’s tone and body language may have indicated that Grening had revealed certain information prematurely.

*The Simpsons: Hit & Run* was released in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and Windows. It can be played on modern computers, but it is not available on modern consoles: the game is not included in the PlayStation Plus Classics catalog or the Xbox backward compatibility list.
The Verge speculates that the game could return as a direct port to modern platforms or as a full HD remaster. The publication also notes that such a remaster wouldn’t necessarily require re-recording the original voice acting.
